Hotel and Resort Landscape
Hospitality grounds are designed around movement and first impressions rather than around a private view. Everything has to survive constant use and look composed at every hour a guest might see it.

Arrival, circulation, and the photograph
The arrival sequence does most of the work. A guest forms an impression between the car and the door, so that stretch carries the strongest planting, the best lighting and the material quality, while the back of house gets none of it.
Circulation is the constraint everything else bends to. Paths have to be wide enough for luggage and for service trolleys, surfaces have to stay safe when wet, and planting has to keep out of the route without being clipped into a corridor.
Then there is the picture. On most Mallorcan properties one view sells the hotel, and the landscape around it is composed for that frame with the same care as a room set.
Typical ingredients
- A designed arrival sequence from parking to entrance
- Wide, level, slip resistant circulation routes
- Repeated planting blocks that read at speed
- Shade over every outdoor dining area
- Screening between guest areas and service routes
- Lighting designed for the evening rather than for security
- Species that tolerate traffic, salt and reflected heat
- Irrigation zoned so large grounds can be managed
How this gets built
How is this different from a private garden?
It is designed for people who will see it once. That pushes everything towards clarity, durability and a strong arrival, and away from detail that rewards long acquaintance.
When can grounds work be done?
Usually in the closed or quiet season, which on Mallorca also happens to be the right time for planting.
