Garden Maintenance in Mallorca

Maintenance is the service most owners here end up needing whether they planned for it or not. Tell us the property, the size of the garden and how often you are on the island, and we pass it to companies that keep gardens in your area.

Two growing windows, not four seasons

Growth here is front loaded. Almost everything moves between February and June, slows to a stop through the driest weeks of summer, then wakes again after the first serious autumn rain. A visit schedule copied from a northern contract spends money in August and misses the two windows that actually matter.

The other difference is irrigation. On most properties the watering system decides whether the garden survives an owner absence, so checking and adjusting it belongs inside maintenance rather than in a separate call out.

Ask any company quoting you how many visits it assumes and what happens between them. That number, more than the hourly rate, is what makes two maintenance prices different. If you want to judge a schedule before anyone quotes, how often a Mallorcan garden needs watering and what the winter jobs actually are cover most of it.

What a maintenance contract usually covers

  • Pruning and cutting back on a seasonal rhythm
  • Irrigation checks and seasonal adjustment
  • Weed control in beds and on gravel
  • Feeding and soil top ups
  • Lawn or ground cover care where there is any
  • Hedge and screen trimming
  • Pool surround sweeping and leaf clearance
  • Green waste taken off the property
  • A report after each visit if you are not on the island

How your request reaches a company

Mallorca Landscapers is a comparison service. A request for regular maintenance goes to the landscaping companies on our list; they quote the work and carry it out, and any agreement is between you and the company you pick.

  1. 01

    Describe the job

Tell us the property, roughly what you want and where it is. Photographs and a rough plan help, though neither is required.

  2. 02

    We match it

The request goes to companies that work in your area and take on this kind of job at this size.

  3. 03

    They quote you

Each company contacts you directly with its own price, timing and approach. We do not set any of it.

  4. 04

    You compare and choose

Put the quotes side by side and take the one you want, or none of them. Using the site costs you nothing.

Holiday homes

Keeping a garden presentable for arrivals you are not there for.

How often does a Mallorcan garden need visiting?

It depends on the planting. A dry garden of natives can run on a handful of visits a year, while a garden with lawn, hedging and pots usually needs something every one or two weeks in spring and less in high summer.

Is palm work included?

Usually not. Palm pruning and red palm weevil treatment tend to be quoted separately, because they need different equipment and, for treatment, different paperwork.

Can I get maintenance for part of the year only?

Yes. Seasonal contracts are common on holiday properties. Say in your request which months matter and the companies can price around it.
