Garden Lighting in Mallorca

Gardens here are used after dark for half the year, which makes lighting one of the few things that changes how much a garden gets used. Tell us the property and we pass it to companies on Mallorca that install outdoor lighting.

Light a few things, not the whole garden

The mistake that makes a garden feel like a car park is flooding it evenly. What works is a small number of deliberate pools of light: an olive lit from below, a wall grazed to show its texture, steps lit low so nobody looks into the source.

Warm colour temperature does most of the heavy lifting. Anything above about 3000 kelvin turns a warm stone terrace grey and makes planting look artificial, which is the difference between a garden that feels finished at night and one that feels like a security installation.

Corrosion decides how long any of it lasts. Coastal salt eats cheap fittings within a couple of seasons, so on an exposed plot the fitting specification matters more than the design.

What a lighting request usually covers

  • A lighting plan keyed to how the space is used
  • Low voltage or mains circuits and transformers
  • Ducting and cable runs, ideally before surfaces go down
  • Uplighting for trees and textured walls
  • Step, path and level change lighting
  • Pool and water feature lighting
  • Fittings rated for coastal exposure
  • Timers, sensors and app control
  • Certification and safe connection to the supply

How your request reaches a company

Mallorca Landscapers is a comparison service. A request for garden lighting goes to the landscaping companies on our list; they quote the work and carry it out, and any agreement is between you and the company you pick.

  1. 01

    Describe the job

Tell us the property, roughly what you want and where it is. Photographs and a rough plan help, though neither is required.

  2. 02

    We match it

The request goes to companies that work in your area and take on this kind of job at this size.

  3. 03

    They quote you

Each company contacts you directly with its own price, timing and approach. We do not set any of it.

  4. 04

    You compare and choose

Put the quotes side by side and take the one you want, or none of them. Using the site costs you nothing.

Water features

Lighting and water usually share a trench.

Can lighting be added to a finished garden?

Yes, though it costs more and the routes are more limited. Where a terrace is already laid, surface mounted and low voltage systems avoid lifting it.

Does outdoor lighting need certification?

Mains work does, and it should be done by someone qualified to connect it. Low voltage systems are simpler but still need a properly protected supply.

Will it annoy the neighbours?

It can, and in some communities there are rules about spill and about uplighting. Aiming and shielding solve most of it, and a good installer raises it before you have to.
